HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team fell on Sunday, dropping 2-0 decision to visiting West Georgia at Charger Park. The Chargers slip to 3-5-0 (2-4-0 Gulf South Conference), while UWG improves to 3-4-0 (3-3-0 GSC).
Turning Points
-The game was a scoreless affair for the majority of the contest, though West Georgia peppered the UAH goal with several strong scoring chances that Charger keeper
Megan Buford was able to turn away.
-UAH's best opportunity going forward came in the 81st minute as the team was able to get the West Georgia goalie away from the goal for a dangerous chance, but ultimately Jackie Donaldson got back in position and saved
Baylie Spring's shot attempt.
-Just five minutes later in the 86th, the Wolves found the back of the net when Francessca Ellis scored, and the Julia Atenza added a second goal for the guests in the 88th to create the 2-0 final.

-The Wolves held a wide 22-3 advantage in shots including an 11-1 difference in shots on goal, and the visiting side also built up a 7-3 margin in corners.
-Buford recorded nine saves in the setback.

-The nine saves for Buford is the second-most for the freshman goalie on the year.
-Spring played all 90 minutes of the contest which is the second time the freshman forward has recorded action in each minute of a game this season.

-The Chargers will be back in action on Friday when the team treks down Interstate 65 to visit Montevallo in the first contest with the Falcons since the school rejoined the GSC. Kick-off is slated for 5 p.m.
