CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team opened up Gulf South Conference play with a rout of host Delta State, knocking off the Lady Statesmen 4-1 on Friday afternoon. The Chargers improve to 2-1-0 (1-0-0 GSC) with the win, while DSU slips to 0-3-0 (0-1-0 GSC).

-The Chargers wasted no time opening the scoring as
Sydney Pfankuch's cross from the left side was booted in by
Riley Ridgeway in the third minute to give the Chargers an early 1-0 lead, and the visiting side would enjoy a 2-0 lead at the break after
Hannah Oglesby scored an unassisted tally in the 33rd minute.
-The lead expanded to 3-0 in the 62nd when the two who combined on the first goal switched roles with Pfankuch finishing a ball from Ridgeway, and in the 76th minute
Claire Almarez assisted on
Brynn Colvin's strike that made it a 4-0 lead for UAH before Delta State scored on a PK in the 81st to create the 4-1 final.
