BUSY STRETCH: The UAH women's basketball team will play three games in five days this weekend, starting with a two-game road swing through West Tennessee as the team travels to Union on Thursday for a 6 p.m. contest before venturing to Christian Brothers on Saturday at 1 p.m., and the team will conclude the period with a home game Monday at 5:30 against West Alabama. The Chargers enter the stretch at 11-9 overall and 5-8 in Gulf South Conference play.

AROUND THE GSC: The Chargers remain in the thick of things in an effort to make the GSC tournament, currently sitting in 10th, but UAH is just two games back of being tied for sixth where West Georgia, West Alabama, and Christian Brothers all sit at 7-6, while Delta State is in ninth at 6-7.

LAST TIME OUT: UAH battled tough in a pair of home games last week, but the squad unfortunately dropped the two games by combined three points, falling to Valdosta State 72-71 in overtime before being tripped up by West Florida 66-64.

SPEEGLE SURGING: Sophomore Katie Speegle is on quite the tear, scoring in double figures in her last four games including scoring at least 20 in three straight to start the streak, and those outings have pushed her season scoring average to a team-high 13.0 points per game. Additionally, she leads the team in field goal percentage, connecting on 107 of her 202 for a 53.0 percent mark which ranks fourth in the GSC.

GET THAT OUTTA HERE: UAH recorded seven blocks in the setback to West Florida on Saturday, and that marks the highest total of swatted away shots in a game since the team blocked eight against Hiwassee on Nov. 25, 2014. As a team, the Chargers are averaging 2.9 blocks per game which is the most since the 2010-11 season when the team blocked 3.3 shots per contest.

ABOUT UNION: The Bulldogs continue to roll, owning a perfect 13-0 record in conference play and having won 13 straight en route to a 20-1 overall record. The team is averaging 81.4 points per game, with Chelsey Shumpert leading the way with 24.8 per contest while also grabbing a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY: UU holds a 12-1 edge in the all-time series between the two programs including a 74-67 victory at Spragins Hall earlier this season. UAH had five players score in double figures in that narrow setback, with both Chandler Elder and Morgan Tipton scoring 12 in the contest.

ABOUT CHRISTIAN BROTHERS: The Lady Bucs enter play this week at 8-11 overall and 7-6 in conference play, and the squad is 5-3 at home heading into Thursday's home game against North Alabama. Rafaella Angelidou leads the team with a scoring mark of 12.3 points per game, and Mikaela Blissett leads the team on the glass with 7.0 rebounds per outing.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers are 16-12 all-time against the Lady Bucs after earning a 75-68 victory over CBU back on Jan. 6 in the Rocket City. In the victory, both Loren Foster and Elder scored 17 points to lead the team offensively.

ABOUT WEST ALABAMA: UWA is an even 10-10 overall and 7-6 in league action going into the weekend that begins for the Tigers with a visit to Montevallo on Saturday. Tazsa Garrett-Hammett is the lone Tiger to score in double figures as she is averaging 14.4 points per contest, and she also leads the team in rebounding with 9.0 boards per game.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH is now 28-34 all-time against Monday's opponent after the Tigers claimed a 62-55 victory in Livingston back on Dec. 3. Elder led the Chargers in that game as she scored 24 points including a perfect 8-for-8 day at the charity stripe.
