HUNTSVILLE | Leveling its record in conference play, The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team picked up a 75-70 victory on the road over host Mississippi College on Thursday night. The Chargers improve to 9-4 (3-3 Gulf South Conference), while MC slips to 5-8 (1-6 GSC).

Turning Point
-With the Choctaws holding a 67-64 lead with just under six minutes remaining in the game, the Chargers scored seven of the next eight points including a 3-pointer from both
Katie Speegle and
Loren Foster in the next 1:46 to gain a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

Inside the Box Score
-UAH was led on the night by Foster who scored 22 thanks to a 7-for-11 showing from the floor which included six successful shots from beyond the arc.
-Two other Chargers scored in double figures including
Katie Speegle who was 7-for-9 overall and a perfect 3-for-3 on 3-point tries on her way to scoring 19, while
Morgan Tipton went 5-for-7 from the floor to score 12.

Chandler Elder led UAH on the glass with seven rebounds, while
Baylee Johnson dished out a team-best five assists to help the Chargers record 20 assists on 25 made shots.
-Pacing the MC offensive effort on the night was Kelley Allen who scored 18 while also collecting a team-best seven rebounds.
-For the game, the Lady Choctaws held a slim 47.4 percent to 47.2 percent advantage in shooting, but the visitors knocked down 12 3-pointers while allowing MC to hit just three as part of a key difference in the contest.

Inside the Flow
-After the hosts opened the scoring, the Chargers hit three consecutive 3-pointers as part of a 9-2 run to open up a 9-4 advantage with just under three minutes of the first quarter played, and though MC would tie it twice in the period, UAH went into the second holding an 18-16 lead.
-The hosts would go in front for the first time since the start of the game at the 8:52 mark of the second quarter, eventually pushing out to a five-point cushion, but in a first half that saw six ties and eight exchanges of the lead, it was the Chargers that went into the locker room up at the break 37-32.
-The home team tied the contest quickly thanks to a strong start to the third quarter, and MC eventually built up as much as a seven-point advantage in the stanza by going up 54-47 with 3:25 on the clock.
-The Chargers responded with a 10-2 run to close the quarter, however, to go up 57-56 heading into the fourth, and the guests would take a 62-58 lead at the 8:30 mark of the final frame before MC answered with a quick 7-0 run to take a 65-62 lead.
-The Lady Choctaws would enjoy that advantage again with 5:40 remaining in the game before UAH closed the contest on an 11-3 run to claim the victory.

Noteworthy
-The 22 points for Foster represents a career-best for the senior whose previous high was 21 against Delta State on Jan. 26 of last season.
-The six made 3-pointers by Foster is the most hit by a Charger this season, and it is the highest total since
Dina Saunders knocked down seven against Barry back on Nov. 15, 2014.
-After going 2-12 on the road last season, UAH picks up its third road victory of the year to move to 3-2 in the 2017-18 season.
