UAH Downs West Georgia 3-0 Friday at Spragins Hall

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team returned to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Friday evening with a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) over visiting West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH improves to 18-5 (7-3 GSC), while UWG dips to 10-7 (5-5 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- The Chargers opened the contest with a dominant 25-14 victory in the first set, and the squad would not look back as UAH clipped West Georgia in three sets with wins of 25-19 and 25-15 in the second and third frames, respectively.
 
Inside the Action
- The Chargers had rallies of three or more points on four occasions in the first set on the way to a 25-14 win.
- UAH led by as much as 11 points in the 25-19 victory in the second and was able to withstand a late push by the Wolves to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Chargers turned in their most dominant attacking performance of the contest in the third set with a team .455 hitting percentage and 17 kills in the victory-sealing 25-15 win in the stanza.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Isabelle Barnes paced the UAH attack with a team-high 11 kills on a .526 hitting percentage. Her .526 hitting percentage was the highest on the roster amongst players with 10 or more attempts.
- Sabrina Duncan picked up a double-double with a team-high 32 assists in addition to 10 digs. Duncan added four kills on a .571 hitting percentage to round out her performance.
- Lorah Yonce finished with a team-high 13 digs, while posting seven kills with a .462 hitting percentage.
- Abby Brooks had a strong overall performance with eight kills and nine digs.
