HUNTSVILLE | Rolling to victory on Senior Day, The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team beat visiting Shorter 5-0 at Charger Park on Sunday. The Chargers improve to 8-6-1 (6-3-1 Gulf South Conference), while the Hawks slip to 1-15-0 (1-10-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-The Chargers wasted no time scoring the game's first goal as
Andres Rodriguez tallied in the second minute of the contest, and the home side would take a 2-0 lead into the half as
Vicente Arratia's corner in the 38th minute deflected off a body in front on its way into the goal.
-A storybook goal in the 57th minute would lift the Chargers to a 3-0 advantage as senior
Tucker Watts played a beautiful ball across the front of the goal where fellow senior
Guy Clennett dove and drove the ball into the back of the net with his head.
-Rodriguez quickly made it a 4-0 game when he scored in the 59th minute, and freshman
Garren Hayes rounded out the scoring in the 76th minute.
-Preserving the shutout, senior keeper
Myles Fullen made a terrific diving stop in the 86th minute to produce the 5-0 final.

-The Chargers held a wide 14-4 advantage in shots, and the team also enjoyed a 10-2 edge in shots on goal.
-UAH's dangerous attack on this day also resulted in 13 corners compared to just two for the visiting Hawks.

-Clennett's six goals and his 14 points both rank second on the team.
-The assist for Watts is his first of the season.
-Fullen posts his fifth clean sheet of the season, and he has not allowed a goal in the past two contests.
-The goals for Arratia, Rodriguez, and Hayes all are the first for each of the freshmen.
-The multi-goal performance for Rodriguez is the third this season by a Charger.
-UAH now sits on 19 points in conference action, and the Chargers are currently in fourth place with other action still underway across the league on Sunday.

-UAH will wrap up the regular season on Thursday in Livingston, taking on West Alabama at 7:30 p.m. The contest is a rematch of last year's GSC tournament championship game which saw UWA capture the title on penalties.Â
