UAH Edged 3-2 in Saturday Matchup at West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball fell on Saturday at West Alabama by a final score of 3-2 (28-26, 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 8-15) in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH dips to 17-5 (6-3 GSC), while UWA improves to 15-5 (8-2 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- After West Alabama forced a fifth set with a 25-22 win in the fourth, the Tigers proceeded to open the fifth on a 12-4 run on the way to the victory-clinching 15-8 win in the frame.
 
Inside the Box Score
-  Anna LeDuc paced the Chargers offense with 15 kills on a .256 hitting percentage, while notching a double-double with 10 digs on the defensive end.
- A total of four Chargers had at least 10 digs in the contest, headlined by Haley Hop with a match-best 31 scoops.
- Sabrina Duncan also had a double-double on Saturday with a team-high 39 assists to go along with 18 digs. Duncan also added six kills on a .417 hitting percentage.
- Isabelle Barnes rated second on the squad with 12 kills on a .355 hitting percentage, followed by Abby Brooks who notched 11 kills.
- Brooks came up just short of a double-double after adding nine digs as well.
- Barnes and Lorah Yonce tied for the team lead on defense with five total blocks apiece.
 
Noteworthy
- Duncan's 18 digs in the contest were a season-high for the sophomore.
- Hop achieved a season-high 31 digs, giving her four consecutive matches with at least 20 digs.
- LeDuc has at least 10 digs in four straight contests.
 
Next Time Out
- UAH returns to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall next weekend with matches on Friday against West Georgia and Saturday against Valdosta State.
