HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball season played a final tune-up on Monday night, defeating visiting Oakwood 84-51 in an exhibition at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

-Three different Chargers scored in double figures in the contest, led by
Baylee Johnson who utilized a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the charity stripe to score 15.

Katie Speegle logged a double-double in the contest by scoring 11 and grabbing 10 rebounds, and freshman
Holly Harris rounded out the double-figure contingent with 10 points while also registering a team-best plus/minus of 19.
-Ten other Chargers scored in the contest.
-For the game, UAH shot 45.2 percent while using a strong defensive effort that limited the Ambassadors to shoot just 28.8 percent overall including a 5-for-17 mark from beyond the arc.
-As a team, the Chargers dished out 15 assists with
Morgan Tipton and
Heidi Miller both handing out three helpers.
-Though both teams turned the ball over 17 times, the Chargers were far more opportunistic and capitalized for an 18-9 advantage in points off miscues.
-UAH outrebounded the guests by a 50-34 clip, and 14 of those were offensive boards for the Chargers which translated to a 22-7 edge in second-chance points.
-The Chargers were dominant inside the paint, scoring 44 of their points inside, and UAH also picked up a strong showing from its bench with 40 points being scored by the host team's reserves.

-UAH will be off the rest of the week before opening up the regular season on Saturday in Nashville as the Chargers take on Trevecca Nazarene. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
