HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell in its Western Collegiate Hockey Association series opener against No. 12 Bowling Green by a final score of 6-2 on Saturday evening at the Von Braun Center. UAH dips to 1-12-0 (1-6-0 WCHA), while BGSU rises to 9-3-2 (4-2-1 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
- After UAH and BGSU were knotted at 1-1 following the first period, Bowling Green took control of the game by outscoring UAH 5-1 in the final two periods to take the series-opening matchup by a 6-2 final.
 
Scoring Breakdown
- The Falcons opened up the scoring with an unassisted marker by Sam Craggs at the 6:40 mark.
- UAH evened the contest at 1-1 with a power-play tally by Christian Rajic at 17:19 of the first period, thanks to assists from Jack Jeffers and Cam Knight.
- Bowling Green scored back-to-back unanswered goals in the second period by Adam Smith at 8:59 and Lukas Craggs at 12:20 to make it a 3-1 visitors lead.
- The Chargers responded at 13:44 when Ben Allen struck for his first collegiate goal to make it a one-goal contest. Rajic notched an assist on the play.
- BGSU went on to score three more times in the third period by Max Johnson at 3:46, Cameron Wright at 6:13 and Lukas Craggs at 16:46 to bring the game to its 6-2 final.
