UAH Falls on the Road at Lee on Wednesday Night

CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell on the road on Wednesday night, dropping a 72-50 decision at Lee. The Chargers slip to 12-13 (6-12 Gulf South Conference), while the Flames improve to 20-6 (13-5 GSC).

Turning Point
-The Flames used a 21-5 third quarter to turn a two-point halftime lead into a more substantial 54-36 advantage en route to the victory.

Inside the Box Score
-Chandler Elder turned in another double-double, scoring a team-best 16 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.
-Elder was joined in double figures by Morgan Tipton who added 10 including a pair of 3-pointers.
-The Flames were led on the night by Erin Walsh who scored 17.
-For the game, the hosts shot 46.7 percent while holding the Chargers to a 32.7 percent night from the floor, and the Flames also won the rebounding battle by a 40-28 margin.
-UAH's reserves were strong in the contest, scoring 21 points, while the Flames received 27 points from their bench.

Inside the Flow
-The Flames scored the first bucket of the game and eventually built up a 12-point advantage in the first quarter, and though a 13-5 run would pull the Chargers to within four, a 3-pointer near the end of the quarter gave Lee a 23-16 advantage going into the second.
-Lee would push its margin back out to 10 at 30-20 with 6:52 left in the second period, but the Chargers would limit the Flames to just an old-fashioned 3-point play while scoring 11 of their own the rest of the way to pull within two at 33-31 at the half.
-The Flames, however, responded to the strong UAH push by controlling the third quarter, building up the 18-point advantage by the end of the period, and the hosts would lead by as many as 27 in the fourth while sealing the contest.

Noteworthy
-With the 12 rebounds, Elder now has 612 on her career which pushes her into third all-time in program history.
-Elder now has seven double-doubles on the year including three in the team's past five games.

Next Time Out
