ONE MORE TIME: The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team will close out the 2017-18 campaign on Thursday night, welcoming Montevallo for a 5:30 p.m. tilt at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers enter the contest at 13-13 (7-12 Gulf South Conference).

LAST TIME OUT: The Chargers picked up a victory on Senior Day, defeating Mississippi College 71-63 in the final Saturday home game for UAH's seniors. Baylee Johnson led the Chargers in the game with 21 points on a 9-for-13 shooting afternoon.

MUCH IMPROVED: UAH will be aiming to finish the season with a winning record which would be quite the turnaround from a year when the squad won just five games. The team's success at home has helped key the turnaround, improving from 3-9 last year to go 8-5 this season. Additionally, the Chargers have averaged more than six points per game higher than last year while decreasing their average points allowed by nearly four points per contest.

A GREAT CAREER: Chandler Elder enters the last game of her career sitting on 978 points, 621 rebounds, and 229 assists for her career, and each of those numbers rank in the top 10 all-time at UAH to make her only the second player in program history to rank in the top 10 in all three categories as she joins former Charger star Jordan Smith. Elder is presently eighth in scoring, third in rebounding, and eighth in assists.

SOPHOMORE SENSATION: Katie Speegle has turned in a strong second year in the Blue and White as she goes into the last game of the year second on the team in scoring with 11.7 points per game thanks to a strong 50.8 percentage mark from the floor. She has also been a force on the defensive end of the floor, swatting away 34 shots on the year to rank fifth in the GSC in blocks.

ABOUT MONTEVALLO: The Falcons visit Huntsville at 3-24 on the season including a 1-18 mark in conference play, and that victory came on Saturday by a 73-70 margin over Shorter. Nautika Philpot paces the squad with 9.3 points per game, while Albanellys Perez leads the team with 4.9 rebounds per contest.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers are now 34-28 all-time against the Falcons after winning earlier this year in Montevallo. In that 61-58 victory, the Chargers were led by Johnson who scored 14 while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists.
