UAH Starts Sunshine State Tour at Tampa on Friday

UPCOMING MATCHUP: UAH (6-2, 2-1 GSC) starts their four-game tour of the Sunshine State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a nonconference matchup against No. 15 Tampa (7-3, 1-0 SSC). This will be the first back-to-back matchup against ranked opponents in UAH program history.
 
RECENT ACTION: The Chargers faced their first nationally-ranked opponent of the season in No. 11 Rollins this past Saturday in Cumming, Georgia, with the Tars coming away with the 19-12 win in the neutral-site contest.
 
LEADING THE NATION: UAH continues to lead NCAA Division II in scoring offense in 2018 with an average of 21.13 goals per game, thanks to a team-high 36 goals by Nicole Federovitch who is closely followed by Alanna Carvalho with 33 tallies. Entering the weekend, UAH boasts a GSC-high four players in the top 10 in scoring in the league, including Federovitch (2nd, 4.50 GPG), Carvalho (3rd, 4.13 GPG), Abbey O'Brien (T9th, 2.38 GPG) and Kinta Schott (T9th, 2.38 GPG).
 
BETWEEN THE PIPES: Leslie Allen Brown enters the week with a league-leading 8.51 goals against average while also rating second in the conference with a .450 save percentage with 45 saves. Over the past two games, Brown has totaled nine or more saves.
 
DYNAMIC TRIO: Three of the Chargers statistical category leaders rank in the upper-echelon of the conference, as Ava Boethig ranks third with 1.38 caused turnovers per game, Shannon Kruse is sixth with 2.50 ground balls per game and Kinta Schott rates second with 5.25 draw controls per game.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: After Friday's matchup in Tampa, UAH looks ahead to next week's nonconference matchups against at Ave Maria on Monday, Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday and Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
 
SPARTANS PROFILE: Tampa enters the Friday night contest with a 7-3 overall record, following an 8-7 loss to No. 19 NYIT on Tuesday at home. The Spartans offense is paced by Amanda Rom (12-15—27) and Rachel Crawford (10-15—25), while Bridget Sutter has played the majority of time in goal with a 9.06 goals against average and a .515 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 0-1 all-time against UT, with the most previous matchup coming on March 5, 2016 when the Spartans narrowly defeated the Chargers 10-9 in Tampa.
