HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams for the 2026 At-Large season were announced, and the UAH women's lacrosse team was represented by three honorees including
Sarah Cole,
Ella Rutherford, and
Sydney Schiavone.
Cole, an accounting major, started all 16 games she appeared in this season and recorded 35 points on 27 goals and eight assists. She also collected 43 draw controls, 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
Rutherford, a kinesiology major, appeared in 19 games with 15 starts this season and totaled 48 points on 28 goals and 20 assists. She added 21 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
Schiavone, an art major, started all 19 games on defense this season and anchored the back line with 19 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls. She also added five draw controls and scored one goal.
In order to qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA as well as being competing in at least 90 percent of the team's games OR must start in at least 66 percent of the team's games.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced July 7.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
