UAH Cruises to 19-11 Win at Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team capped off the Sunshine State tour with a 19-11 win over Embry-Riddle on Saturday afternoon. UAH improves to 9-3, while ERAU slips to 6-6.
 
Turning Point
- The UAH offense was clicking on all cylinders in the opening half to the tune of an 11-4 lead after 30 minutes, allowing the squad to hold on for the 19-11 win on Saturday.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Three Chargers posted four goals in the game, including Nicole Federovitch, Karissa Glover and Abbey O'Brien.
- Federovitch led the offense overall with seven points on a team-high three assists in addition to her four tallies. She also added two caused turnovers and one ground ball to the effort.
- Alanna Carvalho finished with a four-point day on two goals and two assists, while picking up three ground balls and forcing two turnovers.
- Caroline Dodd notched a team-high five ground balls in addition to two ground balls, followed by Kinta Schott who had four draw controls and two ground balls.
- Leslie Allen Brown notched the win in goal to move to 9-2 on the year, totaling eight saves in the victory.
- UAH edged ERAU in shots on goal (30-19) and ground balls (23-18).
 
Inside the Flow
- UAH opened the game on a 5-0 run in the initial eight minutes of the game, as both Federovitch and Glover scored twice in the early going.
- The Chargers closed out the half by outscoring the Eagles 6-4 in the last 21:30 for an 11-4 lead at the half.
- After Embry-Riddle notched the first goal of the second half, UAH proceeded to score five straight times to make it a 16-5 lead with 21:07 to play.
- ERAU made a 6-3 run to close out the contest, but UAH held on for the 19-11 win.
 
Noteworthy
- With Young Harris' win over Shorter today, UAH has officially clinched a spot in the GSC invitational which takes place on April 27-29 at the top seed's campus.
- Federovitch has totaled seven or more points in a game six times this season.
