YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team embarks on the postseason as the second seed at the 2018 Gulf South Conference Invitational Tournament beginning with a Friday matchup at 6 p.m. against third-seeded Lee on the Young Harris campus.

The Chargers reached the GSC invitational for the third straight season as the squad boasted a 12-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference play which was good for second in the league standings.

Last season, UAH faced off against Young Harris in the GSC invitational final for the second year in a row, with the Mountain Lions taking the contest by a score of 16-12.

UAH's offense has been electric again this season after leading NCAA Division II in scoring for the first two seasons in program history, as the Chargers pace the nation with 19.50 goals per game. The Chargers are led offensively by two-time GSC Player of the Year
Nicole Federovitch who is atop the country with 111 points on 65 goals and 46 assists in her junior campaign.

UAH also boasts four additional All-GSC performers in the 2018 campaign, including midfielder
Alanna Carvalho, defender
Kinta Schott, defender
Ava Boethig and goalie
Leslie Allen Brown.

Lee is in the GSC invitational for the first time in its program's history as the Flames went 9-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play in their second season of existence. The Flames are led overall by Becca Broadwick with a team-high 60 goals and 125 draw controls, while Christa Hill and Abby Sanders split time in goal for a 13.82 goals against average and a .367 save percentage.

The winner of Friday evening's matchup between UAH and Lee looks ahead to the GSC invitational final on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT on YHC's campus.
