Guy Clennett registered a hat trick,
Rafa Moreno extended his goal-scoring streak to six games, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team throttled visiting Mississippi College 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park. The Chargers improve to 4-2 (2-0 Gulf South Conference), while MC slips to 3-2-0 (1-1-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-UAH wasted no time jumping out in front as
Vicente Arratia played a great ball to
Khalil Bell who then sprinted past the MC keeper to easily score and put the Chargers ahead 1-0 in the eighth minute.
-Clennett then scored his first of the game in the 18th when
Steven Gallagher passed it across the front of the goal to Clennett who then made it 2-0, and the senior tallied his second of the game with time winding down in the half, scoring in the 44th to make it a 3-0 lead for the Chargers at the break.
-Putting the hosts up by four, Moreno tallied in the 55th minute from Clennett and Bell, but the Choctaws would get on the board just two minutes later in the 57th to make it a 4-1 game.
-Clennett then wrapped up his afternoon with a 73rd-minute goal before MC created the 5-2 final with a penalty kick score in the 86th.

-The Chargers finished the game with a 9-8 advantage in shots including a wide 8-3 margin in attempts that were on target.
-Clennett paced UAH with his three shots, while
Khalil Bell had a pair in the contest.

Noteworthy
-The hat trick for Clennett is the first by a Charger this season, and it is the first since
Jordan Wright scored three times in a road game at Shorter on Oct. 22 of last season.
-The seven points for Clennett in the game are the most by a UAH player since Wright had 15 against Oakwood on Sept. 7, 2015.
-Moreno now has a team-best seven goals on the season, and he leads the league in goals while tying for the GSC lead in points with 14.
-Bell's goal is his third of the season, and with his assist, both he and Clennett are tied for second on the team in points with eight on the year.
-Gallagher earns his second assist of the season.
-The five goals at Charger Park in a conference game are the most in that situation since the team scored five against Delta State on Sept. 30, 2016.

-The Chargers will be off until they travel to West Tennessee next weekend, starting the road swing with a Friday contest at Christian Brothers. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Memphis.
