HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team returned home in style with a 72-63 win over Shorter on Thursday at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in a Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH improves to 6-7 (4-3 GSC) with the win, while SU slips to 1-12 (0-6 GSC).

-With a 34-22 lead at the half, the Chargers continued to gain momentum in the third quarter with a game-high 25 points in the frame to help UAH to an 18-point advantage entering the fourth frame on the way to the 72-63 win on Thursday.

Aryn Sanders paced the UAH offense on Tuesday night with 20 points against the Hawks on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor which included a perfect 2-for-2 mark from beyond the arc.

Holly Harris – who played a team-high 35 minutes – tied for second on the roster with 15 points and six rebounds, as the freshman went 4-for-5 on three-point attempts.
-Harris and Sanders tied with a team-high two steals on the defensive end.

Katie Speegle also ranked second on the roster with 15 points, posting a 7-of-9 mark from the field.
Baylee Johnson registered a team-high four assists and tied with Harris with six rebounds on the night.

Emme Willoughby notched a team-best two blocks in 18 minutes on the court.
-The Chargers shots 47.2 percent (25-for-53) from the floor and 42.9 percent (6-for-14) from beyond the arc.
-UAH forced a total of 18 turnovers in the contest.

-UAH held Shorter to a game-low eight points on 3-of-13 shooting while forcing four turnovers in the first quarter on the way to an 15-8 lead heading to the second.
-The Chargers offense went 7-for-13 from the field to outscore the Hawks 19-14 in the second quarter for a 34-22 advantage at halftime.
-The Blue & White's offense continued to click on all cylinders in the third quarter, shooting 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from the field and posting 12 points in the paint to lead Shorter 59-41 going into the fourth.
-Despite the Hawks owning a 22-13 advantage in the fourth quarter, UAH held on for the 72-63 win.

-Harris' four three-pointers on Thursday match her season-high, which was also set at Spring Hill on Dec. 10.
-In her past two games, Harris has gone 12-for-19 on field goals and 7-for-10 on three-pointers.
-Sanders reached the 20-point mark in a game for the fourth time this season, raising her team-high scoring average to 16.7.
-UAH's 18 forced turnovers were a season-high.
