MARIE, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team fell 7-2 to No. 18 Lake Superior State on Friday night at Taffy Abel Arena in the first game a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. UAH slips to 4-19-0 (4-11-0 WCHA), while LSSU improves to 14-6-1 (9-5-1 WCHA).

- Lake Superior State outscored UAH 6-1 in the first period on the way to the 7-2 win on Friday to open the two-game set.

Scoring Breakdown
- The Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead 26 seconds into the contest with a goal by Diego Cuglietta, but UAH negated the tally with
Adam Wilcox's second goal of the season at the 2:16 mark.
- LSSU went on to score five goals to close out the first period for a 6-1 lead, as Max Humitz (4:15), Gage Torrel (9:22), Melvin Karlsson (12:03), Jacob Nordqvist (14:32) and Steven Ruggiero (19:55) each had a marker in the opening period.
