HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team completed a comeback victory over Ferris State in overtime by a final score of 4-3 to win the finale of the two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. UAH improves to 4-18-0 (4-10-0 WCHA), while FSU dips to 6-15-1 (3-10-1 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
- The Chargers tied the game at 3-3 with 11 seconds remaining in the third period on a tally by Brandon Salerno to force overtime, where UAH went on to score the game-winner at the 3:13 mark on a deflection in front of the goal by junior Austin Beaulieu which gave UAH the 4-3 victory.
 
Scoring Breakdown
- The majority of the first period was quiet offensively until Zech Cooper gave the Bulldogs the first lead at the 17:17 mark, but UAH tied it back up at 18:23 when a one-timer by Kurt Gosselin found the back of the net on the power play.
- Ferris State notched a pair of second-period goals at 5:02 by Trevor Recktenwald and Cooper at 11:17 to lead 3-1 entering second intermission.
- The Chargers cut into the Bulldogs lead at 16:35 of the third period, as Beaulieu wristed in a shot from the slot thanks to assists by Hans Gorowsky and Christian Rajic.
- With an extra skater on and the UAH net empty, Salerno snuck in the game-tying goal at 19:49 of the frame to force overtime.
- Beaulieu gave the Chargers the 4-3 victory in overtime with a power-play tally at 3:13, as the junior deflected a shot by Cam Knight from the point. Both Knight and Bauer Neudecker assisted on the game-winning goal.
