Chargers Stumble in 2-1 Loss to Spring Hill

HUNTSVILLE | A late own goal proved to be the difference on Sunday as Spring Hill defeated The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team 2-1 at Charger Park. UAH slips to 4-7-1 (2-3-1 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while SHC improves to 5-6-0 (3-4-0 GSC).
 
Turning Points
-Spring Hill got on the board first, earning a penalty in the 11th minute which Alexander Lipinski converted to make it 1-0.
-The game remained 1-0 through halftime and well into the second half until Connor Young's cross into the box was headed in by Khalil Bell in the 82nd minute to tie it.
-A Spring Hill corner, however, in the 88th would result in an own goal, lifting the visitors to the 2-1 win.
 
Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers outshot SHC by an 18-14 margin and also held a 6-3 edge in shots on goal, while corners in the contest were even at three for each team.
-Both Steven Gallagher and Alex Kinateder led UAH with three shots, while Rafa Moreno took a pair of attempts and placed both on target to lead the team in shots on goal.
-Drew Kelly made two stops in goal for the Chargers while taking the loss.
-Fouls in the game were level at 17 for each side, and the official issued three cautions.
