LOWELL, Mass. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team dropped its 2019-20 season opener at UMass Lowell by a final score of 5-1 on Saturday night at Tsongas Center. UAH dips to 0-1-0, while UML rises to 1-0-0.

-With the Chargers on the power play midway through the second period, UML's Kenny Hausinger scored shorthanded at 10:59 to put the hosts up 2-0 on the way to topping UAH 5-1 on Saturday.

-The River Hawks opened the scoring early in first period with a tally by Colin O'Neill at 1:21, when he sent in a rebound off a shot from the blue line.
