UAH Clinches GSC Tournament Berth with Win at Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team clinched a berth to the 2019 Gulf South Conference Tournament with a 3-1 win (25-13, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16) at Valdosta State on Saturday afternoon in a GSC matchup. UAH improves to 20-7 (10-1 GSC), while VSU dips to 11-16 (3-8 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- After Valdosta State evened the contest at 1-1 with a win in the second set, UAH turned in a 24-21 victory in the third followed by a 25-16 drubbing in the fourth to capture the four-set victory on Saturday.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Isabelle Barnes paced the Chargers offense with a team-high 13 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, and she nearly garnered a double-double with nine digs in the contest.
- Both Ally Kennis and Kendall Scharbert had 10 kills against the Blazers, with Scharbert posting a .471 hitting percentage.
- Ali Lowe boasted a team-high .533 hitting percentage with eight kills on the day.
