BIG RAPIDS, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team shutout Ferris State 2-0 in the opening matchup of a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series on Friday night at Ewigleben Arena. UAH improves to 7-24-2 (7-16-2 WCHA), while FSU slips to 8-22-3 (5-17-3 WCHA).

Turning Point
- The Chargers took the first lead early on in the first period which was enough for UAH on Friday night as
Mark Sinclair shutout the Bulldogs offense over 60 minutes with 35 total saves on the way to the 2-0 victory at Ferris State to open the two-game set.

- UAH took an early 1-0 lead at 6:44 of the first period when
Hans Gorowsky redirected a shot in front by
Drew Lennon. Both Lennon and
Austin Beaulieu notched assists on the marker.
- Both sides went scoreless until the waning moments of the third period when
Bauer Neudecker induced a turnover at center-ice which turned into an empty-net tally for the freshman.

- Lennon's first career point was his assist on the game-winning goal on Friday night.
- Jeffers' seventh assist of the season moves him in to second on the roster with 14 points on an additional seven goals.
- There is now a three-way tie for third on the roster with 13 points between Neudecker (6g-7a), Beaulieu (5g-8a) and Gosselin (4g-9a).
