Late Goal Lifts Erskine Past UAH in Season Opener

DUE WEST, S.C. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team opened the new campaign on Friday, and a late goal proved to be the difference as the Chargers were tripped up by Erskine 1-0 on the road. UAH starts the year at 0-1, while Erskine begins at 1-0.

-Maddie Cole scored the game's lone goal when she tallied in the 74th minute to break the scoreless draw.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Though Erskine built up an 8-7 advantage in shots, the Chargers enjoyed a wide 6-2 margin in attempts that were on target.
-Brynn Colvin led UAH with a pair of shots, and both were on goal for the junior.
-Megan Buford recorded a save in taking the loss in goal for the visitors.
-Corners in the game were even at 3-3.
-The two teams combined for 18 fouls, and there were four bookings including each team having a player sent off in the 77th minute.

-Colvin picks up where she left off last year as she paced UAH with 34 shots including 13 that were on frame a season ago.
