HUNTSVILLE | The No. 18 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team completed its weekend sweep of visiting Delta State on Sunday, winning 9-1 in five innings. The Chargers improve to 8-4 (3-0 Gulf South Conference), while the Lady Statesmen fall to 3-8 (0-3 GSC).

-After Murphy tossed a perfect 1-2-3 inning to start the game, the Chargers would send eight batters to the plate in the bottom of the first with Nutt and Hampton driving in a run each while Long doubled in a pair to help put the hosts ahead 4-0.
-A scoreless second would follow, but the Chargers would erupt for four more in the home half of the third, as 10 batters hit for UAH including Nutt who had a two-run homer and
Kaylee Vaught who drove in a pair on a single to left to make it an 8-0 game.
-DSU would score its run in the top of the fourth, and after a scoreless bottom of the fourth and top of the fifth,
Alaina Hampton promptly ended the game with a long fly to left field to produce the 9-1 final.
