HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team made history Thursday night, establishing a program record with 10 consecutive victories by blowing past visiting Shorter 90-53 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 17-8 (12-5 Gulf South Conference), while Shorter drops to 1-22 (1-16 GSC).

-The history-making win saw the team's two seniors turn in top performances as
Katie Speegle knocked down 11 shots on her way to scoring 23 points to go along with 12 rebounds, while
Aryn Sanders scored 16 and pulled down a team-high 17 rebounds as both seniors logged double-doubles in the game.

Holly Harris who added 13.

-After the Chargers scored the first four points of the game, Shorter would pull into a tie at 6-6 with 6:16 left in the opening quarter, and from that point, UAH would outscore the Hawks by a 16-2 margin en route to holding a 22-8 edge at the end of one.
-The advantage grew to as many as 21 in the second quarter, with the Chargers going into the halftime break leading 44-28.
-The third quarter was a closer period with UAH outscoring the guests by just four at 23-19, but the fourth period saw the hosts hold a 23-6 scoring advantage, leading by as many as 39 before securing the 90-53 win.

-The 10th straight victory sets a program record breaking the previous record of nine held by the 1982-1983 team.
-UAH also clinches a spot in the upcoming GSC tournament, and the Chargers are currently in third with a two-game lead on fifth place with three games remaining. The top four teams in the league host opening-round games on Super Tuesday.
-The 17 rebounds for Sanders mark a career-best for the senior, and it is the best single-game performance by a Chargers since Feb. 27, 2014, when Juanice Newton also had 17 boards.
-This is the fifth double-double of the year for Sanders, while Sanders notches her third.
-The 90 points scored is a season high for the Chargers and the most scored by a UAH team since scoring 103 against Lane on Nov. 23, 2015.
