HUNTSVILLE | The Gulf South Conference announced its 2020 GSC Men's Tennis Champion Scholar-Athlete on Thursday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville's
Sebastian Rohrbach is the recipient of the inaugural award.
Â
The award was slated to be presented at the GSC Men's Tennis Championship as it is awarded at the final site of each conference tournament, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference office decided to bestow the honor upon the student-athlete who has the highest GPA (with credit hours earned serving as a tiebreaker).
Â
Rohrbach has a perfect 4.0 GPA and has earned 107 hours as a finance and economics major.Â
Â
Before the cancelation of the season, Rohrbach had posted a 3-3 record in singles play at the top position, and the junior was 4-2 in doubles at which he also played at the No. 1.
Â
Rohrbach is UAH's fourth winner of this award this season, joining men's soccer's Drew Kelly, women's basketball's Sloan Mann, and men's basketball's Henley Edge.
