Chargers Sail Past Buccaneers with Three-Set Victory Saturday

Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-20, 25-14) at Christian Brothers on Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 13-6 (7-2 GSC), while CBU dips to 2-19 (0-9 GSC).
 
UAH head coach Jon Moseley's squad had an outstanding attacking performance in the three-set win, as the Chargers posted a .330 hitting percentage for the match with five players recording five kills or more.
 
Zharia Hubbard and Molly Presnell each had eight kills against the Buccaneers on Saturday to lead the UAH offense, followed by Paris Morris and Kendall Scharbert with seven successful swats apiece.
 
Morris's .538 hitting percentage paced all Chargers, followed by Scharbert at .500 and Hubbard at .357.
 
Defensively, Shayla Libby anchored the squad at CBU with a team-high 13 digs while also tying with Presnell for the roster lead in aces with three each.
 
Sabrina Duncan nearly achieved a double-double on Saturday with a team-leading 32 assists in addition to nine digs. Her nine digs were second on the roster.
 
The Chargers opened up the Saturday contest at Christian Brothers with a match-best .444 team hitting percentage which led the squad to a 25-18 win in the first.
 
UAH would edge CBU 25-20 in the second stanza to extend the advantage, before cruising through the third by a score of 25-14 to complete the three-set win.
 
The Chargers will step out of GSC play next weekend as the team travels to Orlando, Florida, for the GSC-SSC Crossover.
