CARROLLTON, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team fell on the road on Friday afternoon, dropping a 2-1 contest at host West Georgia. UAH slips to 5-5-2 (3-4-1 Gulf South Conference) with the setback, while UWG improves to 6-6-0 (4-5-0 GSC).

After a scoreless first half, the Wolves did not take long to take the lead in the second stanza as they went up in the 50th thanks to a goal from Hillary Resendiz, and the home side would go on to double its lead with a score from Kaylah Nichols in the 75th.

Providing her team with life in the closing minutes,
Brynn Colvin scored from
Melanie Brannon in the 84th to make it a 2-1 game, but West Georgia would hold UAH without a shot the rest of the way to hang on for the win.

Colvin extends her team lead in goals to six on the season, while Brannon tallies her second point.

UAH outshot West Georgia in the contest by an 11-10 margin, though it was the Wolves who held a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. In corners, the Chargers earned four compared to two for the hosts.

Colvin led the team with four attempts.

Adriana Wright finished the night with three saves in goal for UAH.

The Chargers will now turn their attention towards the southern end of the state where a battle with Valdosta State awaits on Sunday. Kick-off against the Blazers is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
