ORLANDO, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team wrapped up play at the 2021 Gulf South Conference-Sunshine State Conference Crossover on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Eckerd and a 3-0 loss to No. 10 Tampa in nonconference action. UAH's record in 2021 now stands at 15-7.

The Chargers are back in action on Friday at home at 6 p.m. against West Georgia to return to Gulf South Conference play.

UAH 3, EC 1 (25-22, 24-26, 25-13, 25-20)
UAH had the most dominant serving performance in over three decades as the squad tied the program record set in the 1991 season with 24 service aces on Saturday.
Shayla Libby posted a team-high eight service aces, which are the most in a single match in three seasons by a Charger.

Additionally, Libby tied for the team lead defensively with
Katie Sharp with 12 digs in the win. Sharp also ranked second on the team with five service aces in the historic performance.

Molly Presnell led the Chargers offense in the first match of the day with a team-high 14 kills and .282 hitting percentage to go along with one service ace, three total blocks and seven digs.

Sabrina Duncan helped guide the Blue & White with a team-high 31 assists in addition to seven digs, four service aces and two total blocks.

Kendall Scharbert generated a team-high six total blocks as she also ranked second on the offense with nine kills.
Hailey Holshouser rated second defensively with 10 digs.

UT 3, UAH 0 (13-25, 18-25, 18-25)
UAH's four-match win streak fell in the Chargers final contest at the GSC-SSC Crossover, as No. 10 Tampa won in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-18.

Freshman
Paris Morris led the UAH attack with eight kills and a .333 hitting percentage, followed by
Ally Kennis,
Molly Presnell and
Kendall Scharbert with five kills apiece.

Libby guided the defense with 13 digs, with Holshouser ranking second on the team with seven digs. Duncan, Presnell and Sharp each added six scoops as well.

Duncan also notched a team-high 22 assists to go along with three kills and one total blocks.
