HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team is set to host its 2021-22 home opener on Thursday when the team welcomes Trevecca Nazarene to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
Â
UAH enters the contest at 0-2, while TNU visits with the same record.
Â
The Chargers were led last weekend in part by a pair of newcomers as
Miajah Bullock averaged 14 points on 52.9 percent shooting in the pair of games, while
Jirah Rogers shot 60.0 percent and scored 11.0 points per contest.
Â
Selena Pruitt also averaged double figures with 13.5 points, and she was tops on the glass for UAH with 12 rebounds in the two games.
Â
UAH was strong defensively in the two games, especially at the perimeter as the Chargers allowed the two opponents to shoot just 28.9 percent from long-range, and that mark is the fifth-best 3-point field goal percentage defense number in the Gulf South Conference so far this young season.
Â
The Blue and White will be hosting a TNU team that fell 97-60 to Drury before suffering a 67-54 loss to Southwest Baptist last weekend.
Â
Keeley Carter was especially impressive for the Trojans in the pair of defeats, avering 20.0 points per contest in 23.0 minutes played.
Â
The all-time series between the two programs is tilted in favor of Thursday's guests by a 6-3 margin, though the Chargers took the last meeting with a 66-65 win on Nov. 21, 2019.
Â
Two of the three UAH wins against TNU have come at The Stable.
Â
Following Thursday's game, the Chargers will head to Columbus, Georgia, to take on Columbus State before taking a break for Thanksgiving.
