No. 20 UAH Easily Tames Visiting Bulldogs 105-68

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 20 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team dispatched of visiting Fisk on Sunday in the conclusion of the 2021 Bill Penney Classic, breaching the century mark in an 105-68 win at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 4-2 on the season, while Fisk drops to 0-10.
 
UAH featured six in double-figures in the contest, with redshirt freshman Luke Burnett leading the way once again with a 20-point performance which is now the fourth time this season the Knoxville, Tennessee, native has scored at least 20 in a game.
 
Big man Daniel Saylor came off the bench to go 5-for-6 with a couple of thunderous dunks to score 15 to go along with his team-high seven rebounds, while Chaney Johnson scored 14 and collected six boards.
 
The Chargers had three that knocked down four 3-pointers in Burnett, Max Shulman, and Dane Harding, giving Shulman 14 points on the day and Harding 12, and CJ Williamson rounded out UAH's double-figure contingent with 14 of his own.
 
Harding also had six rebounds, and Williamson grabbed four boards and a team-best four steals.
 
Jack Kostel led the Chargers with six assists in the game.
 
UAH never trailed in the contest, scoring seven straight before the Bulldogs recorded their first basket, and the home team would lead by as many as 20 in the first half before carrying a 48-33 lead into the half.
 
The advantage would grow to 30 by the 14:06 mark of the second when Williamson's dunk made it 68-38, and the Chargers would ultimately push the lead to out as high as 42 before the contest ended with the 105-68 final.
 
The Chargers connected on 58.2 percent of their shots in the game including 13 3-pointers, while Fisk shot 45.9 percent. The rebounding battle also went the way of the Blue and White by a 42-25 margin.
 
UAH forced the guests to turn the ball over 26 times and turned that into a 30-10 advantage in points off turnovers, and it was a 48-28 difference in paint scoring in favor of the hosts.
 
UAH will now turn its attention to its third game in as many days as Southeastern Baptist visits on Monday. Tip-off at The Stable is scheduled for 7 p.m.
