2/14/2021 5:02:00 PM

Box Score MEMPHIS | Winning for the 11th consecutive time, the No. 10 University of Alabama in Huntsville made it a clean weekend sweep of Christian Brothers, winning 76-69 on the road on Sunday. The Chargers improve to 11-1 (11-0 Gulf South Conference), while CBU slips to 2-8 (2-8 GSC).

Turning Point
-After a double-digit lead for UAH had been cut to four, the Chargers responded with a 15-2 run in which the team went 5-for-6 from the floor, held CBU to just one field goal, and forced the Bucs into four turnovers to effectively seal the contest by going up 70-53 with just over four minutes left in the game.

Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers were led by a pair of seniors on the day as Sam Orf was 10-for-15 from the floor on his way to scoring 26 while grabbing six rebounds and handing out three assists, while JJ Kaplan was 9-for-15 to score 25 while also grabbing six boards and dishing out a team-best four assists.
-Seth Swalve gave UAH three in double figures as he scored 11 and matched Kaplan with four assists.
-The Chargers shot 53.7 percent for the contest to outshoot the hosts who were good on 47.3 percent of their tries, and the visitors also won on the glass by a 28-25 clip.

Inside the Flow
-The biggest lead of the game for CBU came on the opening possession of the game as a 3-pointer fell to make it 3-0 early, but by the 13:23 mark of the opening half after a Chaney Johnson 3-pointer, the Chargers would be up 15-7.
-The lead would expand to 11 eventually for UAH before taking a 37-28 lead into the locker room at the half.
-A Kaplan layup with 17:14 left in the game pushed the Chargers in front 45-32, but a push from the Bucs would quickly narrow the gap to just six at 45-39 less than two minutes later.
-With 9:08 remaining, Christian Brothers would make it a four-point game at 55-51, but over the next five minutes, UAH would 5-for-6 from the floor with a Max Shulman trey capping off a 15-2 run that put the visitors up comfortably 70-53.
-CBU would trim its deficit to seven but could pull no closer as the Chargers secured the victory.

Noteworthy
-Kaplan's 25-point performance is his best since he scored 31 against West Alabama on March 9, 2019.
-This is the third time this season that Orf has scored at least 20 points in a game.
-This is the second time in the all-time series that UAH has won six straight against Christian Brothers, matching the winning streak put together from 2010-11 to 2012-13 which included a 4-0 showing against CBU in the 2011-12 season.

Next Time Out
-UAH will return home for a two-game set against Union next weekend, starting with a Friday night contest at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall that is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
