Chargers Fall to Delta State on Saturday Night

MADISON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team fell on Saturday night, dropping a 2-0 contest to visiting Delta State in a match that was played at James Clemens High School due to the wet conditions in the Tennessee Valley this weekend. UAH dips to 2-2 (0-2 Gulf South Conference), while DSU improves to 3-0 (1-0 GSC).
 
Turning Points
-The game was scoreless until the 80th minute when Delta State's Rylee McGee made the first shot on goal for the visitors count, putting DSU up 1-0.
-Diana Okechukwu would seal the contest for Delta State as she scored in the 87th to create the eventual 2-0 final.
 
Inside the Box Score
-It was a defensive battle, with the teams combining for just 14 shots as UAH outshot the Lady Statesmen by an 8-6 margin, and three of UAH's attempts were on target.
-Delta State had four corners in the game, while UAH had two.
-Each of Brynn Colvin, Carmen Endicott, and Devyn Thompson had a pair of shots for the Chargers, and Colvin and Thompson were joined by Peggy Mathis in having a shot that was on frame.
-There were 11 fouls whistled on each team, and there were no bookings.
