PENSACOLA, Fla. | The No. 15 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team picked up a second straight series win, this time in dramatic fashion as the Chargers scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to secure a 7-6 win over West Florida. UAH is now 9-3 (4-2 Gulf South Conference), while UWF falls to 9-5 (4-2 GSC).

Game Changer
-After falling behind 6-1 early, the Chargers clawed all the way back and in the bottom of the seventh – UAH was the home team this weekend in Pensacola –
Reagan Malone would double in the tying run before scoring the winning run on a passed ball to give the Chargers the victory.

-The Chargers outhit West Florida by a 13-6 margin in the game.

Kiara Akles finished the contest going 3-for-4 with three RBI to lead UAH offensively.

Grace O'Berry was terrific in relief in the circle, throwing the final 5.1 innings and giving up just one hit and not allowing a run while striking out a pair.

Key Plays
-West Florida opened the scoring in the first with a run before using a pair of homers to aid its effort in scoring five times in the second to go up 6-0.
-Hampton's two-bagger in the bottom half of the second would score Akles and make it a 6-1 game, and the score would remain that way until the fifth when Akles singled in a run to pull UAH within three at 6-2.
-UAH would chip away further in the sixth when
Ashley Cornell singled in the team's third run before Akles knocked in a pair on an base hit to right center, cutting the Blue and White's deficit to just one run.
-In the seventh, Young would start the inning off with an infield single before moving to second on a
Gracie Green sacrifice bunt, and that allowed Young to score when Malone doubled.
-An error allowed Cornell to reach and pushed Malone up to third, and she would score on a passed ball two batters later to give UAH the win.

-O'Berry gets the victory – her second of the season – following her most dominant outing of the year.
-Akles move to second on the team with 16 RBI on the year, and she is now batting .436.
-This is UAH's first true walk-off since Feb. 15 of last season when the team scored four times in the seventh to beat Delta State 7-5.
-UAH has now won seven of its last nine meetings with the Argos.

-UAH stays in conference action next weekend, traveling to Memphis to take on Christian Brothers. Saturday's doubleheader to start the series is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
