UAH Takes Sunday Matchup at Missouri Western 17-7

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team wrapped up the weekend's slate on Sunday with a 17-7 win at Missouri Western. UAH improves to 3-1, while MWSU dips to 0-1.
 
Turning Point
-The Charger outscored the Griffons 7-3 in the first half, and the squad would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the contest on the way to the 17-7 win Sunday.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Cara Brown paced the UAH attack with nine points on a team-high eight goals to go along with one assist.
-Brown additionally had a team-high seven draw controls and was tied for second on the day with seven draw controls.
-Katie Gerber rated second on the Chargers roster with six points from five goals and one assist.
-Gerber also had a team-best four ground balls and was second on the squad with three draw controls.
-Hailey Gallant recorded four points with a roster-high four assists.
-Both Sarah Farley (2g-0a) and Karissa Glover (1g-1a) had two points in the win.
-Tori Ryan played the majority of time in goal for the Chargers with three saves and seven goals allowed as her record improved to 3-0.
-UAH held the edge over MWSU in shots on goal (32-10), ground balls (24-9), and caused turnovers (12-8).
 
Noteworthy
-Brown's nine points and eight goals are a career-high as a Charger. Her eight goals are also tied for second in a game in program history.
-Gallant's four caused turnovers are the most by a Charger this season.
