UAH Edged in Nonconference Action at No. 20 Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville was edged 11-7 on the road at No. 20 Mount Olive on Saturday afternoon in nonconference action. UAH dips to 3-2, while UMO improves to 2-1.
 
Turning Point
-After taking a 6-4 lead into halftime, Mount Olive opened up the second frame with four unanswered goals to extend its lead to 10-4 on the way to the 11-7 win over UAH.
 
Inside the Box Score
-A trio of Chargers scored two goals in the contest, including Cara Brown, Katie Gerber and Karissa Glover.
-Gerber notched a game-high eight draw controls against the Trojans, as she also added two ground balls to rank tied for second on the squad.
-Brown finished second to Gerber with four ground balls.
-Darby Smith caused a team-high three turnovers and tied for the team lead in ground balls with three.
-Hailey Gallant recorded two caused turnovers while adding one assist on offense and tying for the team lead with three ground balls.
-Tori Ryan started and played 37:19 in goal for the Chargers with eight goals allowed and four saves. Her record dips to 2-2 with the loss.
-Shain Doser came into the cage for 22:41, allowing three goals and making one save.
-UAH held the edge over Mount Olive in shots on goal (19-16) and draw controls (13-7).

-Gallant recorded her 17th assist of the season, which is fifth most in a single season by a Charger.
-Gerber has posted eight draw controls in a game two times this season, as she leads the roster with 33 this season.
-Brown has scored two or more goals in five straight games to start 2021.
