HUNTSVILLE | Playing its second top-10 opponent in as many outings, the No. 13 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team split with visiting No. 3 North Georgia on Thursday at Charger Park with the Chargers winning 5-3 in the first game before falling 10-0 in five innings in the nightcap. UAH is now 22-9 on the season, while the Nighthawks move to 23-5.

-The back-and-forth affair saw the scoring start in the second when Akles absolutely crushed one to straightaway center to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead, but after a scoreless third for both teams, the Nighthawks would get two of their own in the fourth to go up 2-1.
-The lead would not last long, however, as Young singled in Nutt and Akles would also come home after the ball was booted around in the outfield, allowing the home team to go up 3-2.
-A solo shot in the top of the fifth tied the game back up at 3-3, but in the bottom of the fifth, Young would single through the left side, plating Nutt and Akles again to put the Chargers ahead by a 5-3 score.
-North Georgia would load the bases in the top of the seventh, but Murphy would wiggle out of the jam to seal the win.
