BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference unveiled its academic honors for the 2021 Spring season on Thursday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by a total of 14 All-Academic Team members and 160 Honor Roll recipients.
 
The UAH women's lacrosse team led the way with a total of five GSC All-Academic Team honorees, including Cara Brown, Hailey Gallant, Katie Gerber, Karissa Glover and Darby Smith. Both Gerber and Glover garnered their second career conference all-academic distinction.
 
Men's track & field boasted four GSC All-Academic Team members, headlined by two-time honoree Hunter Nails to go along with Zach Hancock, Garrison Hill and Harold Lacroix.
 
Men's soccer's Ethan Wilson was recognized with his third career GSC All-Academic award, while softball's Ashley Cornell and volleyball's Abby Brooks both earned their second career honor.
 
Baseball's Garrett Bodine, volleyball's Kendall Scharbert and women's track & field's Emee Baldwin and Kaylee Stewart each garnered their first career GSC All-Academic honor to round out the Chargers 14 awardees.
 
UAH's men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball teams competed this spring as part of the GSC Spring Championship Series due to the cancellation of fall competition in 2020.
 
The GSC All-Academic Teams are comprised of student-athletes with at least a 3.20 GPA while also being a starter or significant contributor athletically.
 
The GSC Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes who competed and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.
