HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team starts off the 2021 campaign at home with three matches in the UAH Invitational, presented by the Huntsville Sports Commission, this Friday and Saturday at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.
 
UAH takes on Emmanuel to start the year on Friday at 1:15 p.m., followed by a matchup with Ouachita Baptist at 4:45 p.m. The Chargers wrap up the weekend on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Trevecca Nazarene.
 
Admission for both games -- and every regular season home game -- is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union. Face coverings are required at all times while inside Spragins Hall per University policy.

This will be UAH's first fall home game since Nov. 12, 2019, as the 2020 fall championship season was halted due to COVID-19.
 
Despite the cancellation of the fall volleyball season, UAH won the Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series title in a limited schedule this past spring which saw the Chargers go 7-2 overall and 3-1 in GSC contests.
 
The Chargers – who were voted second in the GSC preseason poll – are led by a pair of Preseason All-GSC picks in Sabrina Duncan and Kendall Scharbert. Both garnered GSC Spring Championship Series All-Tournament honors as part of the Chargers title run.
 
Emmanuel, Ouachita Baptist and Trevecca Nazarene each did not compete in the fall campaign, but they all did play a limited spring schedule. UAH met TNU during the spring, with the Chargers winning in four sets on April 9.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 1-0 against EC, 8-6 against OBU and 19-3 against TNU.
