HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team finished off its first weekend of play with a 3-2 loss (26-28, 25-13, 25-16, 21-25, 10-15) to visiting Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on the final day of the 2021 UAH Invitational, presented by the Huntsville Sports Commission. UAH dips to 2-1, while TNU improves to 3-0.

Senior
Sabrina Duncan had an excellent all-around performance in the five-set contest, as she accumulated 35 assists, 16 digs, five total blocks, five service aces and four kills in her time on the court. Her 16 digs were second on the roster, while leading the team in assists and service aces.

A pair of Chargers notched 12 kills in the contest, including
Molly Presnell and
Emma Jarrett. Presnell additionally added eight digs, while Jarrett boasted a team-high .346 hitting percentage.

Shayla Libby and
Gracie McGee shared the team lead in digs with 17 each in the contest, as McGee also added 10 kills for her first double-double.

Trevecca Nazarene came from behind to take the first set by a score of 28-26, before UAH cruised to back-to-back victories in the second by 25-13 and third by 25-16. The Trojans went on to win the ensuing sets by scores of 25-21 and 15-10 for the five-set victory.

UAH looks ahead to four matches next Thursday through Saturday at the Southern Indiana Invite, where the Chargers will take on Southern Indiana, Davis & Elkins, Wayne State and Missouri-St. Louis.
