HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team welcomes West Alabama to Charger Park for a nonconference matchup on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Chargers are coming off a four-point road weekend with a 1-0 win at No. 14 Montevallo on Friday night followed by a 1-1 tie against Auburn Montgomery on Sunday, as UAH now holds an overall record of 2-8-3 and 2-5-2 in Gulf South Conference play.

Robert Bailey guided the Chargers defense to the unbeaten weekend, allowing only one goal over 180 minutes of action with 12 total saves including nine stops in the shutout of the Falcons.

A total of nine Chargers have scored at least one goal in the 2022 campaign, as
Henry Mpagi Jr. became the ninth UAH player to record a tally with his game-tying goal on Sunday at AUM.
Sander Van Der Sluijs leads the squad overall with three goals and six points.

West Alabama starts out the week's slate with a 5-2-5 overall record and a 5-0-4 mark in conference play, with the Tigers leading the conference with 19 points.

The Tigers offense is guided by Patrick Sacher with 12 points on five goals and two assists, while UWA's primary goaltender is Harry Devenney with a .47 goals against average and .868 save percentage.

After Saturday's matchup, UAH looks ahead to the final two matches of the 2022 regular season with GSC postseason stakes on the line at home on Friday against Shorter and then on the road at Lee on Sunday. The Chargers are currently ninth in the GSC standings with eight points, while eighth place Spring Hill owns nine points.
