HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team hosts Shorter for its final regular season home game of the 2022 season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Charger Park.

The UAH men's soccer program will honor its 2022 seniors prior to Friday's, which includes
Shalev Keter,
Giancarlo Martinez,
Sander Van Der Sluijs and
Nick York.

The Chargers enter the final two matches of the regular season this weekend in search of a berth to the GSC tournament, as the squad sits in a tie for ninth with eight conference points. Eighth-place Spring Hill is clinging to its position with nine points, with UAH and Delta State knotted in ninth with eight points each.

UAH currently holds an overall record of 3-8-3 that includes a 2-5-2 mark in GSC play, after most recently topping West Alabama in nonconference action 2-1 at home on Saturday.

Andreas Tsimon scored the game-winning goal in the contest, earning him his first career GSC Player of the Week award. He has scored two game-winning goals in 2022 so far.

Colby Nesbit became the 10th Charger to score a goal this season with the go-ahead tally against UWA on Saturday. Van Der Sluijs leads the squad with three goals scored in his senior season.

Robert Bailey has become UAH's primary goalkeeper in the 2022 campaign, as he has accumulated a 1.67 goals against average and .694 save percentage over 10 matches started. He has accrued 34 saves as well to rank fifth in the GSC.

Shorter begins the week's slate with a 3-9-0 overall record this season and a 0-9-0 record in GSC play, following a 3-1 loss last Friday to Auburn Montgomery in a nonconference tilt. The Hawks offense is led by Mattia Maiello with eight goals and one assist, while Javier Flores has been SU's primary goaltender with a 3.29 goals against average and .594 save percentage.
