HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team wrapped up its 2022 regular season home slate with a 1-1 tie against Shorter on Friday night at Charger Park in Gulf South Conference action. UAH moves to 3-8-4 (2-5-3 GSC), while SU's record is now 3-9-1 (0-9-1 GSC).

After a scoreless 45 minutes to start Friday's contest, the Chargers pulled ahead in the 59th minute when
Michael Weston headed in a corner kick from
Colby Nesbit.

Weston's goal was his second of the year, while Nesbit notched his team-leading third assist in 2022.

The Hawks evened the contest at 1-1 in the 70th minute on a goal by Charles Garcia, which would stand as the night's final score.

The Chargers split time in goal between
Robert Bailey and
Giancarlo Martinez, with Martinez playing the majority of the contest with 80-plus minutes. Martinez allowed the lone goal while picking up three saves in the tie.

The Blue & White accrued five shots on goal against the Hawks, led by
Kieran Rowe and Weston with two apiece.
