UAH Hosts Three Matches at Spragins Hall Starting Tuesday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team hosts its final three regular season home matches this week, beginning on Tuesday at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall against Auburn Montgomery at 6 p.m.
 
The Chargers continue their week's slate with Pink Night on Friday against Montevallo at 6 p.m., followed by Senior Day on Saturday against Shorter at 2 p.m.
 
The UAH volleyball program will honor seniors Laekyn Bennett, Emma Jarrett, Ally Kennis, Shayla Libby and Eden Pafford prior to Saturday's contest.
 
UAH enters the week with an overall record of 11-14 and 5-6 in GSC play, after most recently topping West Georgia on the road on Saturday in five sets.
 
The Chargers are currently seventh in the conference standings with five matches to play, with the top eight teams in the GSC qualifying for the league tournament starting Monday, Nov. 7.
 
Junior Gracie McGee has eclipsed both 200 kills and 200 digs for the first time in her career, as she leads the Chargers overall with 218 kills and rates second on the team with 212 digs.
 
The Chargers defense boasts four players with 200 digs or more in the 2022 campaign, including Shayla Libby with a team-high 257, McGee with 212, Tatiana Bonilla with 203 and Hailey Holshouser with 202.
 
Auburn Montgomery currently holds a 12-14 overall record and a 6-5 mark in league play, following a 3-0 loss at Union on Saturday. The Warhawks are led by Kendall McCain with a team-high 264 kills and 230 digs.
 
Montevallo starts out the week with a 16-10 overall record that includes a GSC record of 16-10, after most recently dropping a 3-1 decision to Valdosta State on the road on Saturday. UM's offense is guided by Macy Martin (282 kills) and Allie Dishman (280 kills), while Casey Hendrixson guides the Falcons defense with 470 digs.
 
Shorter enters the week's schedule with a 13-14 overall record and a 6-5 record in conference action, as the Hawks recently dropped a home matchup on Saturday to Mississippi College. SU's offense features five players with 100 kills or more, while Madison Sprosty owns a team-high 388 digs.
