MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team toppled No. 14 Montevallo on the road by a score of 1-0 on Friday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 2-8-2 (2-5-1 GSC), while UM dips to 6-2-3 (5-2-0 GSC).

UAH last defeated a ranked opponent on Sept. 8, 2017, with a 2-1 win over No. 20 Florida Tech.

After a scoreless first half, the Chargers pulled ahead in the 59th minute when
Andreas Tsimon rocketed a shot to the bottom right of the goal from 18 yards out for his first career tally.

He is now the eighth UAH player to score at least one goal in the 2022 campaign.

Both sides would go scoreless for the remainder of the second half as UAH hung on for the 1-0 victory.

Robert Bailey guided the Chargers defense to the team's first shutout victory of the season with nine saves over 90 minutes of action.

Bailey also helped notch UAH's first shutout win since Oct. 3, 2021, against Delta State.

Kieran Rowe led the Chargers with two shots on goal, as the team recorded four shots on target on the night in addition to eight corner kick opportunities.
