MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team wrapped up its weekend slate with a 1-1 tie at Auburn Montgomery on Sunday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action. UAH moves to 2-8-3 (2-5-2 GSC), while AUM's record is now 4-5-3 (4-3-2 GSC).

The hosts went in front in the early going of Sunday's matchup with a fifth minute goal by Charlie Elliott to put the Warhawks up 1-0, which would stand through the first 45 minutes of action.

The Chargers rebounded in the second half as
Henry Mpagi Jr. slammed home a ball in the box with an overhead kick in the 78th minute to knot the game at 1-1.

Both sides would go scoreless in the ensuing 21 minutes to bring the game to its 1-1 final score.

UAH recorded five shots on goal overall in the contest, including four on target in the second half.
Malek Elbendary and Mpagi Jr. each had two shots on goal to lead the Chargers.

Robert Bailey was in goal for the Blue & White for the full 90 minutes on Sunday, as the senior recorded three saves in the tie.

The Chargers return home for a nonconference tilt next Saturday at 7 p.m. against West Alabama.
