LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a 3-2 win (20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9) at West Alabama on Friday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 15-15 (9-7 GSC), while UWA ends its season at 6-25 (1-15 GSC).

The Chargers have earned a berth to the 2022 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Championships as the fifth seed, and will host a first-round matchup against eighth-seeded Shorter on Monday at 6 p.m.

UAH's offense featured four players with 10 kills or more in the win, led by
Ally Kennis with 15 successful swats to go along with seven digs for the senior on the defensive end.

Caroline Moyer rated second on the team with 12 kills on a roster-best .269 hitting percentage, followed by
Zoe Smith with 11 kills against the Tigers.

Savannah Rutledge had a stellar performance overall, guiding the Chargers offense with a season-high 52 assists. She also added a team-best four service aces along with eight digs.

The Chargers defense was anchored by a pair of players with 20-plus digs, including
Hailey Holshouser with 22 and
Tatiana Bonilla with 21.

UAH dropped the initial two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-22, before beginning the comeback trail in the third set with a 25-22 win in the frame thanks to a late 4-0 run.

The Blue & White came from behind to win the fourth set 25-22 again to force the fifth stanza, where UAH outpaced UWA for the 15-9 win in the set.

This is UAH's third straight five-set win along with the sixth consecutive win over West Alabama.
