Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. | The No. 24 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team upended No. 6 Lincoln Memorial by a score of 83-81 on Sunday morning at the 2022 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Florida Southern. UAH improves to 1-1, while LMU slides to 1-1.

This was the Chargers second straight appearance at the prestigious SCB Hall of Fame Classic and the third time overall in program history.

UAH was led by
Chaney Johnson with a team-high 25 points, as the sophomore went 10-for-17 from the field to go along with a roster-best seven rebounds.

Luke Burnett was also stellar offensively in a bounce-back performance, with the sophomore putting up 21 points while shooting 7-for-10 from the field and 5-for-8 on three-pointers.

The Chargers were incredibly efficient overall in the contest, finishing 54.7 percent from the field (29-53), 39.1 percent (9-23) on three-pointers and 94.1 percent (16-17) on free throws.

UAH dominated the first half for a 47-32 lead over Lincoln Memorial, as the squad was led by Burnett's 10 points in the opening frame.

The Chargers maintained their lead throughout the second half, but Lincoln Memorial cut the UAH lead to 82-81 late in the contest before Johnson sank one free throw with eight second remaining to extend UAH's lead to the game's final score of 83-81.

UAH is back in action next weekend at home, as the program hosts the Bill Penney Toyota Classic that will feature four South Region matchups between Friday and Saturday. Chargers will take on Saint Leo on Friday at 7 p.m. and Tampa on Saturday at 4 p.m. as part of the Bill Penney Toyota Classic.
