HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team jumps back into Gulf South Conference play with two games at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall including a New Year's Eve matchup on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Christian Brothers followed by a 2 p.m. contest on Monday at 2 p.m. against Union.

The Chargers return from a 13-day break since their last competition with a 3-9 overall record and a 3-5 mark in GSC play, after most recently falling to Columbus State at home on Dec. 18.

UAH is averaging 54.3 points per game through 12 games in the 2022-23 campaign, led by
Haley Nichols with 13.1 points per game in her first season with the program. She additionally paces the Chargers with 8.3 rebounds per game.

Andrea Lemmond's offense is guided by a trio of freshmen leading the team in assists, highlighted by
Andie Flatgard's roster-best 25 assists. Flagard is followed by fellow freshmen
Madie Krieger with 19 assists and
Elyse Hughes with 15.

Christian Brothers enters the week with a 4-7 overall record and a 2-6 mark in conference action, after most recently falling to Montevallo at home on Dec. 18. The Bucs offense features a trio of players with 12 points or more per game including Jeremia Montgomery (15.4), Emily Jones (14.3) and Yaya Coleman (12.9).

Union currently ranks No. 19 in the WBCA national rankings, as the Bulldogs sport a 7-2 overall record and a 6-2 record in the GSC schedule with the squad winning over Auburn Montgomery on Dec. 18 in its most recent action.

The Bulldogs average 76.2 points per game, led by Shanique Lucas with a team-high 13.8 scoring average. Lucas also leads UU with 4.9 rebounds per game.

UAH holds all-time series records of 19-17 against Christian Brothers and 2-21 against Union.
